summaryfeed is built around the public links you choose to save for your own review. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and who may process it on our behalf. Your use of the service is also governed by the Terms and Conditions. The current service contact details are listed on the Impressum page.
The data controller for summaryfeed is the operator listed in the Impressum. Privacy questions and data requests can be sent to support@summaryfeed.app.
We use your saved URLs to build your personal review feed and generate concise summaries that help you decide which original links to open, skim, or archive. We do not sell your data, including your email address. We do not use your saved links to train models or for advertising.
We process account information, saved links, local session data, and service emails to provide the service you request and perform our agreement with you. We process security logs, abuse-prevention checks, rate limits, backups, and reliability data based on our legitimate interest in keeping summaryfeed safe and available.
We only send essential, service-related emails, such as a brief welcome message when you first sign in. We do not send newsletters or third-party advertising.
We rely on a small number of trusted providers (subprocessors) to run the service. Depending on the provider, they may process your email address, IP address, or the URLs and page content you save:
Some of these providers process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where that happens, transfers are covered by the providers’ standard contractual clauses and data-processing agreements.
Your account and saved links are stored securely by our hosting providers. We use industry standard encryption in transit and provider-managed encryption at rest where available. Access is limited to what is necessary to operate the service.
We keep your saved links and account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your account and saved links are deleted from our live systems. If you delete a specific saved item, it disappears from your account immediately. Operational logs and residual backup copies are kept only as long as needed for security, debugging, disaster recovery, and backup rotation.
You can access, update, or delete your saved links at any time from within the app, download a copy of your account, settings, and saved links at any time from Settings ("Export my data"), and permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings. You may also request correction, restriction, or object to processing by emailing the contact below. If you are in the EU/UK, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
summaryfeed does not use advertising cookies or any third-party analytics/tracking tool. We do keep a first-party account-activity log for basic usage reporting — see "Account activity" above. The app uses local storage for essential app state such as your session token, theme, install state, feature preferences, and offline save queue. Google Sign-In may use its own technical storage or browser checks when you sign in.
Summaries are generated automatically from public page content you save. Sign-in requests are verified automatically by Google Sign-In. We do not use automated processing to make legal or similarly significant decisions about you.
summaryfeed is intended only for people aged 16 or older. The service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@summaryfeed.app and we will delete the account and associated data.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the service evolves. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email.
